OUR FUTURE Tuesday June 24, 2008 something wonderful happened in Prattsburgh, NY. Our Future, decided to make a difference. Some of Our Future , sat around the week before and were discussing “WHAT CAN WE DO?” “WE NEED TO STEP IN AND BE HEARD!” “It is absolutely ridiculous that some people don’t want wind power. Don’t want a new form of clean energy? Don’t want to take a step in the right direction? Don’t THEY realize our future depends on the VISION, not their VIEW? Didn’t the town mandate to bury the transmission lines? Didn’t “Those people” want that? ”…hmmm… So why NOW, do they not want them buried under the road?”Our Future, as young as they are, are very insightful. Our Future ,sees the prices for fuel right now and at the rate the prices are rising. Our Future, sees all the damage that fossil fuels have done to the environment . Our Future sees Global warming is happening and NO ONE wants to do anything about it! Our Future also realizes it is human nature to complain out loud, but when you are supporting something, you tend to be quieter and let things play out.So, Our Future, decided to do something about it. No, CWW as you quote on your website “During the executive session, thirty or more people who are opposed to the eminent domain issue waited outside. The “other side” had asked school kids to carry signs and make a lot of noise. The kids were fed pizza for their trouble. Very few landowners or residents in favor of the project showed up.” Our FUTURE is not ignorant as you portray . Our Future IS the “other side”. Our Future took the steps necessary to make some noise to show how the COMMUNITY of Prattsburgh wants to actively take part in Changing the Current Energy portfolio. Our FUTURE held up signs saying BEEP if you want Wind Power. It was very obvious, by all the support shown by beeping your horn as you drove by, That our FUTURE , are the TRUE Advocates of the Town Of Prattsburgh. All the commotion, beeping and Chanting Truly showed all the support that “showed up”. Pizza was offered and enjoyed, after a two hour waiting period, by Our Future, the Present and the News Crews that were waiting.So next time, you look at OUR FUTURE, realize this, THEY want to be better stewards of the Environment than we are!
